Chimps can identify their friends by their butts! Hahahahaha!

A Dutch group is attempting to establish a national public television channel for animals. Maybe they can feature some butt shots for the chimps.

A sadistic seven-year-old went on a rampage at an Australia zoo, killing 13 rare reptiles. The boy bludgeoned some to death with rocks and threw others into the crocodile enclosure, smiling all the while.

More than 1,000 young Magellanic penguins have drifted ashore in Brazil this year. Experts are unsure what accounts for the recent penguin influx and are struggling to care for the often weak and injured birds.

A Florida Keys man saved his dog from a shark! The 14-pound rat terrier was enjoying his daily swim when a shark tried to gobble him up. His owner jumped in the water and punched the shark, causing it to release the dog. The dog is recovering nicely.

A tiny baby deer was born by Cesarean section after his mother was hit and killed by a car. Born three weeks premature, the little guy was only six inches tall and weighed just 1 pound.  Sadly, he died after only a few days.

Three white lion cubs were born in South Africa. They are adorable. Meanwhile, black rhinos bred in captivity were released into the wild in Kenya, for the first time in 25 years.

Good news for the 50 cats currently roaming the grounds of the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum: they can stay! Bad news for Peggy the horse, a former regular at the Alexandra Hotel: since the pub got new carpets, she is no longer allowed inside.
