Carol’s Critter Corner: Rescue Edition
Posted on August 22, 2008 by Carol
What’s up with all the animals needing rescue this week? Please, dogs and cats, stay out of storm drainage systems, stop climbing poles and ledges, and, for goodness’ sake, avoid cars and traffic! You can keep on rescuing moms, babies, and kittens if you want, though.
Turns out the colossal squid may be not a ferocious “T-rex of the sea” but merely a “giant gelatinous blob.”
Twin pandas were born in China! Why not us, Mei Xiang??
Automatic cameras in Borneo have captured pictures of the rare clouded leopard.
This cat has four ears. This tortoise has a set of wheels!!
A humpback whale calf, separated from its mother, spent the week attempting to suckle from boats. Sadly, the whale had to be euthanized. In other, much happier, confused animal news, a group of newly-hatched sea turtles that mistook an Italian restaurant for the ocean were successfully released into the sea.
Finally, some bad news for you Bigfoot enthusiasts: the recently-discovered Bigfoot carcass turned out to be a monkey suit.
