Good news! Remember Prince Chunk, the 44-pound cat? He was adopted and appears to be in good health, other than his weight. On the other hand, a little kitten was stuck up a power line pole for four days, but made it down safely. Phew. His owners should consider investing in a Kitty Corral(TM).

Speaking of corrals, a venomous viper is missing from a Texas aquarium. The snake is presumed to be stolen, but I’m not convinced: last month it disappeared for two days and was found on top of its enclosure. Eek.

Nils, formerly a Colonel-in-Chief of the Norwegian army, has been knighted. Oh yeah, and did I mention that Nils is a penguin?

An orphaned baby deer was adopted by a group of “bloodthirsty” fox hounds.

A Maryland woman is suing the state for the right to massage horses.

Eating kangaroo meat instead of beef might help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We’d better be careful, though, lest we cause another kangaroo extinction.

A dedicated Colorado dog guarded her owner’s body for six weeks after the man committed suicide.
