Change You Can’t Afford Because Republicans Won’t Provide You With Health Care

Ha!
House Republicans unveiled a new slogan today to go with their long-anticipated rebranding effort for the 2008 elections. And as several bloggers now have pointed out, it turns out it’s already being used – to market an antidepressant.
“The Change You Deserve” is a trademark used by Wyeth Pharmaceuticals to promote its serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor Effexor XR. As of today, Republican leaders say, it’s also the “mantra” under which they will be unveiling “common sense solutions focused on the issues American families and small businesses care about most.”
Effexor is not just an anti-depressant, but an anti-anxiety medication that comes with my highest recommendation. Ask your doctor about it today!
Seriously, though, I like the phrase “change you deserve” as a GOP slogan. See, it’s not their fault that their policies or governing abilities are such utter crap. It’s our fault, because they are giving us exactly what we deserve. And we deserve crappy leaders if we’re going to keep electing Republicans after what they’ve done over the past few decades.
Truth in advertising. At least the Republicans have that going for them… That and a slogan lifted directly from a fantastic drug.
