Should Obama offer Clinton the V.P. spot?

Answer: No.

Seriously, why does anyone think this is even an option, let alone a good idea? You would have to have a fundamental misunderstanding of the vice presidency, national electoral politics, the public perception of the Obama/Clinton dynamic, Barack Obama’s priorities, Hillary Clinton’s priorities, or all of the above in order to treat the suggestion as a serious possibility.

Enough is enough. Hillary Clinton will be the best Senate Majority Leaders the Democrats have seen in decades should she want that job, and if she doesn’t, she will be a valuable member of the Senate caucus in some other capacity.

  1. Perhaps I should accept that he’s writing ‘politics for dummies’ segments for television and sticking them on CNN’s Political Ticker blog and stop paying any attention to the posts. At the same time, I have seen many people discuss this same issue today, so I’m going to go ahead and address it.
