Truck Convoys Make Me Hum “The Ants Go Marching”

Bad traffic this morning? The truckers weren’t helping.

A convoy of several hundred trucks was en route to Washington this morning to stage a protest at the Capitol over high fuel prices.

The truckers plan to arrive via the Capital Beltway and the Frederick Douglass Bridge, drive a circuit around the Mall and then park at RFK Stadium.

From there, they will march along East Capitol Street to the west lawn of the Capitol for a day-long rally. As of 8:45 a.m., a large group of trucks was reported at Frederick, about to head east on Interstate 270. Spokesman Mark Kirsch said they expected to reach the District about 10 a.m.

Yet another sign that the economy is becoming a huge problem for normal working class Americans. Do we really want a president who “doesn’t really understand economics”?
